Laine Redpath BSR opened its doors in March 2016 and, although new to the Brighton health and wellness scene, has made lives better on a daily basis from pier to pier, laines to lanes and downs to dykes, ever since.
Body Stress Release is a relatively new, very progressive and rapidly growing body-work technique and Brighton has welcomed it with open arms (sore knees, achey backs, painful shoulders… and all).
Laine Redpath is a South African born member of the human race. Bios are difficult so here are some bullet-points:
- Studied journalism
- Travelled widely
- Worked in film & then publishing
- Had twins
- Girl twin very unhappy, hyper-alert, shouty
- Tried everything without change (over 1 year: physiotherapy, osteopathy, craniosacral therapy, baby massage, Gina Ford, Baby Whisperer, annoyance, acceptance)
- Tried BSR. Baby girl swapped personality to become calm and happy person – which is how she is (mostly, she’s only human) to this day
- Decided this was a coincidence / phase
- In the meanwhile Laine developed chronic hip pain post-twins
- Had pain (6 years) – had mostly never had pain before (was yoga geek)
- Felt 80 before being 40 (6 years)
- Tried everything (6 years: osteopath, physio, chiro, acupuncture, acupressure, yoga, pilates, lying down, standing up, fetal position, weeping, wine)
- Tried BSR
- Had no hip pain
- Realised BSR had made her and her daughter ‘superbetter’
- Studied BSR
- Practices BSR
- Hip still pain free (3 years, 3 months, a couple days…)
